Tour de Farce

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Well Australia won the Cricket World Cup by 53 runs (D/L) in extraordinary circumstances and the pitch dark. A farcical end to a poor competition that went on far too long and provided no surprises. They were deserved winners, the best team in the competition by a country mile.
The end of the game was ridiculous [...]

A say in the title race

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

This weekend my nephews Tom and Clyde came to stay. After an early start - I sent them back to bed for an hour when I was rudely awoken at 6am - we got the train set out and then switched the ‘pooter on for some cbeebies, played snakes and ladders and did some colouring [...]

A fun packed Easter

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Yesterday I went to my Mum’s for amongstother things an enormous plateful of beautiful roast rib of beef with multitudinous roast vegetables and yorkdhire pudding. My brother and his family were there and we went for a wander in the hills that lie behind Mum’s house. It’s all Forestry Commission land so is mainly coniferous, [...]
